A new year. A new life.

Firstly, I wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year :)

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break. I just wanted to share some exciting news with you. My wife Gurjeet and I were blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Akaal Singh, just before the new year. I can’t really explain to you what it feels like. It’s so many different changes and experiences at once. I am incredibly grateful and feel very fortunate to have him as my son.

Below I’ve shared some photos from the first week or so of his life. If you’d like to keep up with photos of him and our family, I hope to be updating my personal Flickr page, as well as a blog I’ve setup for him at akaalsingh.wordpress.com.

I look forward to sharing more with you in this coming year. :)

BC Wedding Awards

Last night my wife and I attended the BC Wedding Awards and had a great evening. We had a chance to see some friends and meet some wonderful people in the BC wedding industry. I didn’t take any photos and just enjoyed being around some very generous and talented folks. I was fortunate enough to be runner up in the “Best Candid/Photojournalism Photo” category, so that was a nice surprise. San Francisco

My wife Gurjeet and I went to San Francisco last month for a few days for a mini-vacation. Several of her co-workers and their spouses went together and we had a great time. Here are some pics from the trip.

Day at the Olympics

I apologize for not blogging for several days. I’ve been away and just caught up in a few things. But before I get back into the groove of posting up weddings and portraits I have a few other photos I thought I’d share with you.

As most of you probably know we had the Olympic Games here in Vancouver and the city was just lit up with with events and people. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Here are some random photos from some of those days.
